Governor Ernie Fletcher Appoints Member to the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed William G. Elder, Jr., of Lexington, to the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology.
Elder is a psychologist for the University of Kentucky Family and Community Medicine Department. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a doctorate of psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. Elder is a member of the Kentucky Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services National Advisory Committee on Interdisciplinary, Community-Based Linkages. He is married to Honey Elder.
The Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology administers and enforces the statutory authority and monitors the needs of the consuming public. The board examines and licenses all eligible candidates for entry into the profession of psychology. It also recommends appropriate changes in the law to assure fairness and equality.
