Chauvin will serve Division 8 in Jefferson County
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed McKay Chauvin, of Louisville, as Circuit Judge for the 30th Judicial Circuit, Division 8. Mr. Chauvin succeeds Judge Thomas Wine, who was appointed to the Court of Appeals in August. The appointment is effective immediately.
“McKay Chauvin will be a great addition to the Circuit Court bench,” said Governor Fletcher. “His experience paired with the respect he has gained throughout Jefferson County will be a great asset to this position.”
“I am grateful to Governor Fletcher for appointing me to this position, and for the concern he has shown for Jefferson County litigants by making this appointment in a timely manner to make sure their grievances are dealt with promptly,” Chauvin said.
Mr. Chauvin received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Vanderbilt University and his juris doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and previously served as Jefferson Circuit Court Judge in Jefferson County.
Mr. Chauvin and his wife, Laura, have three children.
