Governor Ernie Fletcher Appoints Member to the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation Board of Directors

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed Dr. Charles L. Sharp, of Louisville, to the Bluegrass State Skills Corporation Board of Directors.

Sharp is an assistant professor at the University of Louisville’s College of Business and Public Administration.  He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Millikin University, a master’s degree in marketing from Washington University and a doctorate in marketing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Sharp’s research interests include consumer behavior, negotiation, social marketing and ethnic market segmentation.  At the University of Louisville, he is a member of the Honors and Awards Committee, the Integrated MBA Committee, the Student Recruitment and Retention Committee, the President’s Planning and Budget Advisory Committee and the President’s Commission on Diversity and Racial Equality.  He is the faculty lecturer for Project BUILD and the faculty advisor for Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity.  Sharp is a member of the Metro United Way and the Louisville Urban League Save Our Children Program. 

The Bluegrass State Skills Corporation Board of Directors is made up of 18 members, 12 of whom are appointed by the governor.  The Bluegrass State Skills Corporation was established to improve and promote the employment opportunities of the citizens of the Kentucky by creating and expanding programs of skills training and education which meet the needs of today’s businesses and industries.
