Governor Fletcher Appoints Commonwealth's Attorney for the 5th Judicial Circuit
James Zachry Greenwell accepts appointment
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed James Zachry Greenwell, of Marion, as Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 5th Judicial Circuit covering Crittenden, Union and Webster counties.
Greenwell replaces his father, William S. Greenwell, who resigned. James Greenwell has served as a part-time Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney since March 2005.
A graduate of Murray State University, Greenwell received his juris doctorate from the Michigan State University College of Law. He is a member of the Crittenden County Economic Development Board, the Crittenden County Lions Club and the Crittenden County Chamber of Commerce. Greenwell also serves as treasurer of the Marion Christian Church, where he is a member. He is married to Marcie D. Greenwell.
The appointment is effective June 1.
