Governor Fletcher Appoints Dan Zalla to Kenton Circuit Court
Judge Zalla will serve the 16th Judicial Circuit's 2nd Division
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed Dan Zalla, of Covington, as Circuit Judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit, Kenton County. Mr. Zalla replaces Judge Doug Stephens, who resigned in June.
“I am pleased that Dan has accepted the appointment to the Kenton Circuit Court,” said Governor Fletcher. “His impressive professional experience speaks for itself and I believe that he will be a great addition to the bench.”
“It is an honor to be appointed by Governor Fletcher,” said Mr. Zalla. “As Kenton County transitions this Circuit Court division into a Family Circuit Division in the coming months, I look forward to the challenges ahead and doing the best job I can for the citizens of Northern Kentucky.”
Zalla was born and raised in Kenton County. He is a graduate of Covington Catholic High School, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky, and his law degree from the Salmon P. Chase School of Law at Northern Kentucky University. Zalla has served as a prosecutor for both Covington and Kenton County and has more than 30 years of legal experience in private practice. He lives in Lakeside Park with his four daughters, Hannah, Hilary, Caroline and Lily.
