Governor Fletcher Appoints Rebecca Phillips as Judge of 37th Judicial Circuit
Phillips will serve Carter, Elliott and Morgan Counties
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed Rebecca K. Phillips as Circuit Judge for Carter, Elliott and Morgan Counties of the 37th Judicial Circuit. Ms. Phillips succeeds Judge Sam Long, who retired on June 30.
“Rebecca Phillips will be a great addition to the Circuit Court bench,” said Governor Fletcher. “She has an impressive professional background and is well regarded throughout the communities of this important circuit.”
“I am excited that Governor Fletcher has appointed me to the Circuit Court,” said Ms. Philllips. “Following the primary election I was certainly hopeful that the support I received would make me the frontrunner for the position. I am excited that Governor Fletcher has appointed me to serve the citizens of Carter, Elliott and Morgan Counties and I look forward to getting to work."
Ms. Phillips is a graduate of Kentucky Christian College and a magna cum laude graduate of the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. She has had an extensive private law practice with partner Robert W. Miller and currently serves as president of the Carter County Bar Association.
Ms. Phillips lives in Grayson.
