Judge Thomas Wingate will serve the circuit’s Division II

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher today appointed Judge Thomas Wingate as 48th Circuit Judge for Division II.

Judge Wingate replaces Judge William Graham, who retired effective June 30.

“To be allowed to serve as Franklin Circuit Court Judge is certainly the highlight of my career in the judiciary, and I appreciate the confidence Governor Fletcher has in me,” said Judge Wingate. “Having clerked for the Franklin Circuit Court while attending law school, I understand the magnitude of this position not only for Franklin County, but for the Commonwealth. I’m deeply honored to succeed Judge William Graham to this position.”

A native of Frankfort, Judge Wingate has served as Franklin County District Court Judge since 1999. A graduate of Kentucky State University and the University of Kentucky College of Law, Judge Wingate has been a member of the Kentucky Bar Association since 1991. He is a member and former chair of the Conference of Government Mining Attorneys.
