Governor Fletcher Appoints Commonwealth's Attorney for the 11th Judicial District

Tim Cocanougher of Springfield accepts appointment

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed Tim Cocanougher, of Springfield, as Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 11th Judicial District.

Cocanougher replaces Barry Bertram, who resigned effective May 31, 2006.

A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Louisville School of Law, Cocanougher has worked as an assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 11th Judicial District since November, 1996. Cocanougher previously worked as an attorney in the practice of Mattingly & Simms in Springfield and Barnett and Alagia in Louisville.

Cocanougher holds the rank of Lt. Colonel in the Kentucky Army National Guard, and is currently serving as the Guard’s acting State Judge Advocate.

Cocanougher’s appointment is effective June 1, 2006.
