Governor Ernie Fletcher Appoints Member to the Personnel Board
Patrick Moores accepts appointment
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today the appointment of Patrick Moores, of Nicholasville, to the Personnel Board.
A native of Lexington, Moores began his legal career in 1967 conducting investigative work for the firm of Fowler, Measle & Bell while completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky. Moores’ college study was interrupted for military service in 1969, when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and attended a and graduated from the Officer Candidate School (OCS-Infantry) at Ft. Benning, Ga. Moores served 10 years in the military, obtaining the rank of captain before his departure.
Moores graduated form the University of Kentucky in 1974. He attended law school at the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., receiving his juris doctorate in 1978. He has also done graduate study toward a masters degree in theology/philosophy at Asbury Theological Seminary.
In 1979¸ Moores began his law practice with Fowler, Measle and Bell in Lexington, where he eventually became a senior partner. On January 1, 2001, he entered solo practice.
Moores is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Kentucky Bar Association, the Fayette County Bar Association, the Kentucky Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute. He is married to Janey Moores, owner of BJM & Associates.
