FRANKFORT, Ky. - Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed five members to the Ashland Community and Technical College Board of Directors. They are:

Jack F. Ditty, of Ashland, is a dermatologist. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.  He is president of the Boyd County Medical Society and is married to Juanita Ditty.

Ramona F. Salyer, of Grayson, is an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance.  She is a graduate of Morehead State University.  She is a member of the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce, Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, the Paramount Arts Center, the Morehead State University Foundation, the Carter County Recreation Alliance and the Carter County Rails to Trails.

John Lee Burton, of Louisa, is a bank executive for Peoples Security Bank.  He received a degree from Morehead State University.  He is a member of the Louisa Rotary Club and the Lawrence County Extension Board. Burton is the Lawrence County Conservation District Supervisor. He is married to Joyce Burton.

Marganna C. Phelps, of Catlettsburg, is a retired educator.  She holds degrees from Marshall University, the University of Kentucky and West Virginia University.  She is a member of the American Association of University Women, the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, the Eastern Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and the Boyd County Retired Teachers Association.  She is married to David N. Phelps.

Wendell S. Roberts, of Ashland, is an attorney and partner for Gray, Woods and Cooper.  He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky. He is a member of the National City Bank Board of Directors of Ashland, the Ashland Lions Club, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Boyd County Bar Association and the Ashland Tennis Commission. He is married to Georgia K. Roberts. 

The members of the Ashland Community and Technical College Board of Directors are selected from a list of three names submitted to the governor by the Ashland Community and Technical College Nominating Commission. The directors are responsible for adopting and implementing an annual budget, approving budget requests and evaluating the functions of the school and the school’s staff.
