Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on Sept. 8

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to the Department of Defense, Pfc. Patricia L. Horne, 20, of Greenwood, Miss., died Aug. 24 in Bagram, Afghanistan.  She was assigned to the 96th Aviation Support Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky. 

Funeral services for Pfc. Horne will be held on Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. Eastern time at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Greenwood, Miss.  Burial services will immediately follow at Hudson Park Cemetery in Greenwood.  Gov. Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.
