FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Recreational Trails Authority to serve for terms expiring Aug. 22, 2013.

• Jeffrey D. Spainhour, of Buckner, is an insurance agent with Kiely Hines & Associates. He represents the Kentucky League of Sportsmen.  The appointment replaces L. M. Caudill, whose term has expired.
   
• Debra K. Balliet, of Lexington, is an executive director for the Equine Land Conservation Resource.  She represents Kentucky Equine Organizations.  The appointment replaces Jerry Hancock, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed Alvin J. Cox to the authority to serve for a term expiring Aug. 22, 2013.

• Alvin J. Cox, of Louisville, is an architect with Cox Allen and Associates. He represents the Kentucky Motorcycle Association.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification for Dietitians and Nutritionists to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2013.

• Jean H. Jones, of Morehead, is a registered dietitian with St. Claire Regional Medical Center.  She represents licensed dietetic educators.  The appointment replaces Erin K. Scarberry, whose term has expired.
   
• Ava H. Eaves, of Richmond, is the nutrition services director for Pattie A. Clay Hospital.  She represents certified nutritionists of state or local nutritional programs or private practice.  The appointment replaces Cheryl Bentley, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Wayne Douglas Sapp to the Personnel Board to serve the remainder of the unexpired term ending Jan. 1, 2012.

• Wayne Douglas Sapp, of Columbia, is a farmer and a consultant for First National Bank of Columbia, Ky. He replaces Julianne True.
