Governor Beshear makes appointments to Boards and Commissions
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 18th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky.
- Mary June Brunker, of Cynthiana, is a retired educator. She shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2010.
- Karen Schulman-Bear, of Cynthiana, is the vice president of Oven Art Inc. She shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2010.
- Rose Clifford, of Cynthiana, is a legal nurse consultant at Medical Analysis Resources. She shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2012.
- Rick Chasteen, of Cynthiana, is the director of the Cynthiana-Harrison Co. Recreational Department. He shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2012.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Geographic Information Advisory Council to serve for terms expiring Sept. 22, 2013.
- Mark Wiljanen, of Lexington, is a geographer. He represents the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
- Harla McClure, of Murray, is the city clerk for the city of Murray. She represents the Kentucky League of Cities.
- Ann N. Miller, of Versailles, is a data management coordinator for Pilkington North America. She represents the Kentucky League of Cities.
- Tony Lindauer, of Louisville, is the Jefferson Co. PVA. He represents the Kentucky Association of Counties.
- Roger Recktenwald, of Lawrenceburg, is the director of Research & Planning for the Kentucky Association of Counties. He represents the Kentucky Association of Counties.
- Larisa K. Sims, of Cold Spring, is a planner for the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments. She represents the Kentucky Chapter of the American Planning Association.
- James R. Riney, of Owensboro, is a professional surveyor and engineer for HRG, PLLC Surveying & Engineering. He represents the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
- Theodore L. Niemann, of Louisville, is a surveyor and engineer for Elizabeth Niemann & Assoc. Inc. He represents the Kentucky Association of Land Surveyors.
- Lisa G. Martin, of Demossville, is a GIS administrator for Sanitation District No.1. She represents the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers.
- William M. Andrews Jr., of Georgetown, is a geologist for the Kentucky Geological Survey. He represents the Kentucky Board of Registered Geologists.
- Kevin R. Cornette, of Vanceburg, is the economic development director for Buffalo Trace ADD. He represents the Council of Area Development Districts.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Statewide Independent Living Council to serve for terms expiring May 20, 2012.
- Kimberly Shain Parsely, of Bowling Green, is previously worked as editor of University Publications for Western Kentucky University. She represents advocates of and for individuals with disabilities. The appointment replaces Shannon Caldwell, whose term has expired.
- Sandra L. Radford, of Ashland, is a student at Lindsey Wilson College. She represents advocates of and for individuals with disabilities. The appointment replaces Jeanne M. Gallimore, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following as members to the Education Professional Standards Board to serve for terms expiring Sept. 18, 2013.
- Cathy Gunn, of Morehead, is the dean of the College of Education at Morehead State University. She presents postsecondary education institutions.
- Lorraine G. Williams, of Lexington, is an elementary school principal for the Fayette County Public Schools. She represents school administrators.
- Zenaida M. Smith, of Worthington, is a Spanish teacher at Raceland-Worthington Independent School. She represents middle/junior high school teachers.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to serve for terms expiring July 1, 2012.
- David S. Bayersdorfer, of Louisville, is a human resources assistant at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare. He represents the Alexander Graham Bell Association. The appointment replaces Merle R. Williams, whose term has expired.
- John B. Horsley, of Lexington, is a project manager at Lexmark International. He represents the Kentucky Association of the Deaf. The appointment replaces Dodie Karr, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Harry K. Herren as a member of the Kentucky Humanities Council to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Jan. 1, 2012.
- Harry K. Herren, of Louisville, is a retired attorney. The appointment replaces Karen C. McDaniel, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Eric J. Rose as a member of the Northern Kentucky Convention Center Corporation Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring July 14, 2013.
- Eric J. Rose, of Newport, is the vice president and executive director for the Newport Aquarium. The appointment replaces Aref W. Bsisu, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Christopher M. Todoroff as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Center for the Arts.
- Christopher M. Todoroff, of Louisville, is the senior vie president and general counsel for Humana Inc. The appointment replaces Mary Stone, whose term has expired. Todoroff shall serve for a term expiring April 29, 2013.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Public Advocacy Commission to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2013.
- Debra S. Miller, of Frankfort, is the director of Health Policy for the Council of State Governments. She represents the Kentucky Protection and Advocacy Advisory Board. The appointment replaces Ava C. Crowe, whose term has expired.
- Michael D. Bowling, of Middlesboro, is an attorney in private practice. He represents the Kentucky Bar Association. The appointment replaces Iversy Velez, whose term has expired.
- Darryl W. Durham, of Louisville, is an attorney in private practice. He represents members at large. The appointment replaces Joyce Cummins, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed William T. Reynolds as a member of the Kentucky Board of Optometric Examiners to serve for a term expiring July 1, 2013.
- William T. Reynolds, of Richmond, is the president and CEO of Eye Care Centers Optometrist PSC. The appointment replaces Denise M. Dobbins, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Marsha L. Taylor Meyer as a member of the Board of Registration for Professional Geologists to serve for a term expiring July 14, 2013.
- Marsha L. Taylor Meyer, of Louisville, is the wellhead protection coordinator for the Louisville Water Company. The appointment replaces Thomas P. Ryavec, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Motorcycle Advisory Commission for Highway Safety to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2013.
- William H. McKinney, of Frankfort, is an engineer specialist for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. He represents the Transportation Office of Project Development.
- David Webster, of Glencoe, represents the Kentucky Motorcycle Association.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Arnold Hornback as a member of the Electrical Advisory Committee to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2013.
- Arnold Hornback, of Louisville, is an electrical inspector for Louisville Metro. He represents electrical inspectors. The appointment replaces Robert S. Hamilton, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed Michael T. Leake to the committee to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2013.
- Michael T. Leake, of Louisville, is an engineer at LG&E. He represents public utility companies.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the State Board of Accountancy to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2013.
- Phillip M. Layne, of Ashland, is a CPA for Kelley, Galloway & Company PSC. He represents certified public accountants. The appointment replaces James C. Sparrow, whose term has expired.
- Jamie R. Owen, of Fisherville, is a CPA partner at Louis T. Roth & Co. PLLC. He represents certified public accountants. The appointment replaces Rebecca Lee Phillips, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Timothy C. Mosher as a member of the Kentucky Geological Survey Advisory Board to serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2012.
- Timothy C. Mosher, of Lexington, is the president and chief operating officer for Kentucky Power/AEP. The appointment replaces Hugh Gabbard, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring Sept. 1, 2012.
- Raymond R. Ashcraft Jr., of Frankfort, is the manager of environmental affairs & permitting for Alliance Coal LLC.
- Marco M. Rajkovich, of Nicholasville, is an attorney in private practice.
- John F. Tate, of Bonnyman, is an employee at James River Coal.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Linda A. Nally as a member to the State Board of Examiners and Registration of Landscape Architects to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Feb. 1, 2010.
- Linda A. Nally, of Lebanon, is the owner of Laper Floral LLC. She represents a citizen at large. The appointment replaces Lucille B. Carloftis, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Rhonda T. Edwards as a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Occupational Therapy to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2012.
- Rhonda T. Edwards, of Paducah, is an occupational therapist at West Kentucky Educational Coop. She represents licensed occupational therapists. The appointment replaces Kerry W. Robertson, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed Kelly Nash to the board to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2012.
- Kelly Nash, of Franklin, is an occupational therapist assistant at Commonwealth HealthCorp. She represents licensed occupational therapists assistants.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Melissa L. Sorg as a member of the Kentucky Board of Social Work to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending June 21, 2010.
- Melissa L. Sorg, of Edgewood, is the family resource center coordinator for the Erlanger-Elsmere Board of Education. She represents certified social workers. The appointment replaces James K. Hudson, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Jeffrey E. Wiles as a member of the Kentucky Grape and Wine Council to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Jan. 1, 2010.
- Jeffrey E. Wiles, of Somerset, is a farmer and winery owner. He represents grape producers. The appointment replaces Harkness Edwards III, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Marriage and Family Therapists to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2013.
- Stephanie K. Head, of Simpsonville, is a marriage family therapist in private practice.
- Anthony A. Watkins, of Owenton, is the pastor for Monterey Baptist Church.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Center for Pollution Prevention Board of Directors to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2012.
- Joyce M. Evans, of Midway, is a biomedical scientist at the University of Kentucky. She represents at large members representing the public.
- David W. Pedigo, of Elizabethtown, is an environmental engineer at AMBRAKE Corp. He represents at large members representing an industrial facility.
- John W. Clay, of Frankfort, is a self-employed farmer. He represents at large members representing an agricultural producer.
- Charles R. Dailey, of Boaz, is the director of Environmental Affairs for NewPage Corporation. He represents the industrial community.
- Douglas C. Griffin, of Lexington, is a civil engineer at Kenvirons Inc. He represents environmental engineers.
Gov. Beshear has appointed JeanAnn Coleman Martin as a member of the State Police Personnel Board to serve for the remainder of the unexpired ending June 19, 2010.
- JeanAnn Coleman Martin, of Louisville, is a retired state employee. The appointment replaces Charlesmarie Maxberry, who is deceased.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy effective Jan. 2, 2010 to serve for terms expiring Jan. 1, 2014.
- Deborah L. Brewer, of Sandy Hook, is a pharmacist at Discount Drug Mart. The appointment replaces Catherine Shely, whose term has expired.
- Brian C. DeWire, of Paintsville, is a chiropractor at AMC Chiropractor. He represents at large members. The appointment replaces Sandra M. Simpson, whose term has expired.
- Scott A. Greenwell, of Louisville, is the director of pharmacy professional practice for Humana Inc. The appointment replaces William M. Leake, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 47th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky.
- Tina C. Whitaker, of Cromona, is the editor of Superior Printing and Publishing Co. Inc. The appointment replaces Charles Whitaker, whose term has expired. Whitaker shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2010.
- Linda J. Bailey, of Jenkins, is a lease administrator for CAM Mining LLC. The appointment replaces Teresa L. Banks, whose term has expired. Bailey shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2012.
- Garnard C. “G.C.” Kincer, of Jenkins, is the owner of Letcher County Broadcasting. Kincer shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2012.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board.
- Nancy K. Pfaadt, of Louisville, is the business manager for the Kentucky Certification Board for Prevention Professionals at Eastern Kentucky University. She represents youth advocates. The appointment replaces Lillian Mills, who has resigned. Pfaadt shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 15, 2010.
- Marty E. Lanus, of Shelbyville, is a public relations professional. She represents parents. The appointment replaces J. Todd P’Pool, whose term has expired. Lanus shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 15, 2013.
- Trina Rene’ Patty, of Brandenburg, is a medical biller for the Meade County Pediatrics. The appointment replaces James E. Blasdell, who has resigned. Patty shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 15, 2011.

- Ann C. Ferriell, of Louisville, is the director of Safe & Drug Free Schools/Student Relations for Jefferson Co. Public Schools. She represents local juvenile delinquency prevention councils.

- James R. “Rick” Madison, of Louisville, is a business agent. Madison shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2010.
- Lois Mateus, of Harrodsburg, is a retired senior vice president, executive director of corporate communications and services at Brown-Forman. Mateus shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2010.
