Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on June 3
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in honor of the passing of Retired Maj. Gen. Robert L. DeZarn who passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009.
Maj. Gen. DeZarn, 75, of Stanford, worked for 34 years as a shipping foreman of Armco Steel. DeZarn enlisted in the Kentucky Army National Guard in 1953. He retired as Adjutant General of the Kentucky National Guard with more than 42 years of service.
Burial services for Maj. Gen. DeZarn will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at College Hill Methodist Cemetery in Waco. The governor has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on that day.
Gov. Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.
