FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to the Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed C. Mark Blankenship as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the 42nd Judicial Circuit of Kentucky.

  • C. Mark Blankenship, of Murray, is an attorney in private practice. The appointment replaces Michael Ward, who has resigned. Blankenship shall serve until the general election on Nov. 4, 2008.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Charles R. Geveden Jr. to the Kentucky Railway Museum Board of Directors.

  • Charles R. Geveden Jr., of Frankfort, is the executive director of the Office of Highway Safety. He shall serve as the governor’s representative.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Aaron B. Keatley to the Kentucky Board of Certification of Wastewater System Operators.

  • Aaron B. Keatley, of Frankfort, is the director of the Division of Compliance Assistance for the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection. He represents the cabinet. The appointment replaces Paul A. Bridges, whose term has expired. Keatley shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 31, 2011.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring Aug. 31, 2011.

  • Dennis R. Gumbert, of Ashland, is a wastewater treatment plant operator for the Greenup County Environmental Commission. He represents certified operators.
     
  • David W. Pedigo, of Elizabethtown, is a senior environmental engineer for Akebono Brake Corporation. He represents certified operators of an industrial wastewater system.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 55th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky.

  • Bobby Ray Roution, of Shepherdsville, is a retired employee of Old Fitzgerald Distillery. Roution shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2010.
     
  • Agnes J. Goodman, of Mt. Washington, is a retired food and beverage manager for the Executive Inn. Goodman shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2010.
     
  • Michael Joe Whitt, of Mt. Washington, is the owner of Mt. Washington Sash & Door. Whitt shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2012.
     
  • Deborah Ann Edds, of Mt. Washington, is a child psychologist for the Nelson County Board of Education. Edds shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2012.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the State Board of Podiatry to serve for terms expiring June 30, 2012.

  • Peter J. Doll, of Henderson, is a podiatrist in private practice. The appointment replaces Charles M. Tirone, whose term has expired.
     
  • Karla H. Gibbs, of Simpsonville, is the education programs director for Ohio Valley Education Cooperative. She represents members at large. The appointment replaces Jamieson B. Templin, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed Vivian S. Rhodes to the board.

  • Vivian S. Rhodes, of Lexington, is a podiatrist at Commonwealth Podiatry. Rhodes shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2012.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jerry D. Johnson to the Unemployment Insurance Commission effective Oct. 24, 2008.

  • Jerry D. Johnson, of Pikeville, is the chief operating officer and senior vice president of the Pikeville Medical Center. He represents employers. The appointment replaces Barbara L. Haas, whose term has expired. Johnson shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 23, 2012.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs.

  • Sherry Mays, of Morehead, is retired and is a part-time website designer and graphic artist. The appointment replaces Sherri L. Mosley, who has resigned. Mays shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Dec. 20, 2008.
     
  • Kimberly S. May-Downey, of Pikeville, is an attorney in private practice. The appointment replaces Larry G. Gayden, who has resigned. May-Downey shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Dec. 20, 2011.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Spinal Cord and Head Injury Research Board.

  • George H. Raque Jr., of Louisville, is a physician for Neurosurgical Institute of Kentucky. He represents the University of Louisville College of Medicine. The appointment replaces Henry D. Garretson, who is deceased. Raque shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 31, 2010.
     
  • Linda H. Gleis, of Louisville, is a physician for Louisville Veterans Administration Medical Center. She represents the Kentucky Medical Association. The appointment replaces Harold C. Cannon, whose term has expired. Gleis shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 31, 2010.
     
  • Allison Jones, of Covington, is a medical writer at Medpace, Inc. She represents members at large. The appointment replaces Deneda B. Grider, whose term has expired. Jones shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 31, 2012.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring Jan. 31, 2011.

  • David H. Allgood, of Louisville, is a community advocate with the Center for Accessible Living.
     
  • William R. Markesbery, of Lexington, is a physician at the University of Kentucky. He represents the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council to serve for terms expiring July 1, 2012.

  • Glen W. Skeens, of Owensboro, is the chief of police for the Owensboro Police Department. He represents chiefs of police. The appointment replaces Charles N. Mayer, whose term has expired.
     
  • Michael L. Ormerod, of Prestonsburg, is the chief of police for the Prestonsburg Police Department. He represents chiefs of police. The appointment replaces Randy S. Bratton, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed Wayne Hall to the council to serve for a term expiring July 1, 2012.

  • Wayne Hall, of Louisville, is the chief of police for the University of Louisville Department of Public Safety. He represents chiefs of police.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Advisory Board for Veterans’ Affairs to serve for terms expiring Sept. 25, 2011.

  • Micki King, of Lexington, is a retired colonel and Olympic gold medal diver. She represents Veterans of Foreign Wars.
     
  • Paul E. Worthington Jr., of Greenup, is retired from the U.S. Navy. He represents the American Veterans Organization.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with Mental Retardation and Other Developmental Disabilities to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2011.

  • Cherri Lolley, of Owensboro, is the owner of CherriCare, Medical Equipment and Supplies. The appointment replaces Louise Underwood, whose term has expired.
     
  • Stephen R. Hendricks, of Crestwood, is the senior regional director of ResCare, Inc. He represents direct service providers. The appointment replaces Karen Sue Gardner, whose term has expired.
         
  • Shannon G. Caldwell, of London, is a self-employed consultant. The appointment replaces Herman T. Leigh, whose term has expired.
     
  • Steve Shannon, of Lexington, is the executive director of Ky. Association of Regional Mental Health/Mental Retardation Programs, Inc. He represents direct service providers. The appointment replaces Roland D. Mullins, whose term has expired.
     
  • Anne Montgomery, of Bronston, is a retired teacher. She works part-time as a substitute teacher for the Wayne County Board of Education and a parent liaison for BlueGrass Oakwood. The appointment replaces Gayle H. Rees, whose term has expired.
     
  • Jonathan W. Trimble, of Florence, is a disability advocate. The appointment replaces Marsha J. VanHook, whose term has expired.
     
  • Linda K. Sandidge, of Madisonville, is the owner and president of Sandidge Office Services, Inc. She represents business leaders. The appointment replaces F. Ray Shirley Sr., whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the commission to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2012.

  • Patty D. Dempsey, of Frankfort, is the executive director of The Arc of Kentucky. She represents statewide advocacy groups.
     
  • Clyde D. Lang, of Louisville, is the vice president of Finance and Administration for Cedar Lake, Inc. He represents direct service providers.
     
  • Cathy Jo Edwards, of Mount Sterling, is a receptionist for the Montgomery County Fiscal Court.
     
  • Malkanthie I. McCormick, of Lexington, is a physician at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center.
     
  • Glenna Taylor, of Glasgow, is the project coordinator for The Arc of Kentucky.
     
  • William Shaw, of Glasgow, is retired and a member of The Arc of Kentucky. He represents business leaders.
     
  • Gwynn Tucker Royster, of Waverly, is president of the Union County Library Board and chairman of the Hugh E. Sandefur Training Center.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Center for School Safety Board of Directors to serve for terms expiring July 27, 2010.

  • Wanda Lee Meaux, of Richmond, is a teacher at Mayfield Elementary School. She represents teachers. The appointment replaces Charles J. Hunter IV, whose term has expired.
     
  • Thomas T. Hanner, of Lakeside Park, is the superintendent of the Kenton County School District. He represents superintendents of schools who is a member of the Kentucky Association of School Administrators. The appointment replaces Robert E. Rowland, whose term has expired.
     
  • Gordon R. Parido, of Winchester, is the principal of George Rogers Clark High School. He represents a local school administrator. The appointment replaces Timothy F. Goodlett, whose term has expired.
     
  • Vicki A. Hughes, of Island, is the school food service director for the McLean County Board of Education. She represents classified school employees. The appointment replaces Darrell E. Sea, whose term has expired.
     
  • Timothy E. Feeley, of Crestwood, is a family court circuit judge for the 12th Judicial Circuit-Second Division. He represents juvenile court judges. The appointment replaces John Knox Mills, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring July 27, 2012.

  • Tom Blankenship, of Crab Orchard, is a retired educator. He represents local school district board of education members.
     
  • Susan Wren Jordison, of Mt. Vernon, is a member of the Parent Advisory Council and Madison County Safety Coalition. She represents school council parents.
