Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Governor’s Office for Local Development Announce Funding for Loretto Park
Governor Ernie Fletcher announced today $20,000 in Governor’s Office for Local Development (GOLD) funds for Loretto Park in Marion County.
Funds will be used as gap funding for the completion of the park bathrooms.
Due to streamlining and efficiency efforts in GOLD, the office had an excess of monies in its general fund. These funds can be allocated as gap funding for projects that may otherwise not be eligible for grant funding from GOLD administered programs, giving the money back to the community.
“Governor Fletcher is committed to fully funded projects,” noted GOLD Commissioner Ellen Williams. “These funds will bridge the gap for Loretto Park, allowing them to complete their project.”
Representative Jimmy Higdon said, “Parks are important projects for individuals of all ages and Loretto Park will be enjoyed by Marion County citizens for many years to come.”
GOLD funds are given based on availability and administered by GOLD.
