Governor Ernie Fletcher Brings Funds to Union County

             Governor Ernie Fletcher and the Governor’s Office for Local Development (GOLD) announced four line-items for the city of Uniontown and Union County last night at the Green River Area Development District (GRADD) annual dinner.  The Governor’s line-item funds, generated from House Bill (HB) 267, will be used for multiple projects. 

            "This will provide Union County and Uniontown the funding necessary to work on vital projects in the area,” said Governor Fletcher.  “From levee repair to jail funding, Union County and its citizens will benefit.”

            The line-items are earmarked for the following projects:

·        $450,000-Union County Fiscal Court

o       Union County Fairgrounds-Dr. John A. Arnold, Jr. Indoor Arena

·        $650,000-Union County Fiscal Court

o       Union County Jail

 ·        $500,000-Union County Fiscal Court

o       Union County Library

·        $100,000-City of Uniontown

o       Uniontown Emergency Levee Repair
