Governor’s Office for Local Development (GOLD) Commissioner Darrell Brock, Jr. has named John S. Tapp, Ph.D., P.E., as executive assistant to the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority (KIA), which is now administratively attached to GOLD.
Commissioner Brock said, “We are pleased to have someone with such a high-caliber resume as Dr. Tapp has for this position. His wide-ranging experience in management, civil engineering, strategic planning, budgeting, and grant administration will be a benefit to all of Kentucky.”
Tapp, a Madisonville native, has a long list of accomplishments, including co-founder of Commonwealth Technology, Inc.; former general manager of the Henderson Water Utility; and owner of J. Tapp Consulting, a company that provided consulting services to utilities, local governments, and engineering firms.
“I’m excited to serve Governor Ernie Fletcher and help reach the goals that he has set forth for the state of Kentucky. I’m especially pleased to work with the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority, which works hard to provide sound infrastructure to all corners of our state.”
In his position at KIA, Tapp, a resident of Lyon County, will have an office at Kentucky Dam Village State Park and will concentrate his efforts on infrastructure projects in west Kentucky.
