Kentucky Breeders’ Incentive Fund to Help Provide Rich Racing at the Red Mile

The Kentucky Sire Stakes is a culmination of a month-long series of preliminary races, with the biggest stars earning spots in the finals at the historic and famed Red Mile racetrack. Known for its red clay, one mile track, The Red Mile is the second oldest harness track in the world.  This is a chance for fans to see the most elite pacers and trotters at a racetrack deemed “The Racetrack of the Century.” 

“This is an exciting and fun night for fans, horsemen and the entire community,” said Lisa E. Underwood, executive director of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission. “The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission is thrilled that for the second year in a row the finals will offer $2.4 million in purse money from the Breeders’ Incentive Fund administered by the commission.  The commission is grateful to The Red Mile for hosting the Kentucky Sire Stakes.”
