Work group to be named to study environmental permitting

FRANKFORT, KY. – (May 12, 2005) LaJuana S. Wilcher, secretary of the Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet, will announce the appointment of a work group to study how the state could issue environmental permits under the federal Clean Water Act Section 404 program.  The announcement will be at 10 a.m. EDT, Friday, May 13, at a restored wetlands site in Nelson County, near Boston.

Directions to the site:
From Bardstown:
Follow the Bluegrass Parkway West and take Exit 10 (Boston/New Haven-Highway 52). Take 52 North to the intersection with U.S. 62.  Turn right onto U.S. 62, towards Boston, and travel approximately 2 miles to the railroad crossing.  At the railroad crossing, turn right.  Travel approximately 1 mile-farmhouse will be on your left.  Gate to the wetlands site will be on your left. State vehicles will be parked at the entrance.

From Louisville: Take I-65 South to Elizabethtown, then the Bluegrass Parkway East to Exit 10 (Boston/New Haven-Highway 52). Take 52 North to the intersection with U.S. 62.  Turn right onto U.S. 62, towards Boston, and travel approximately 2 miles to the railroad crossing.  At the railroad crossing, turn right.  Travel approximately 1 mile-farmhouse will be on your left.  Gate to the wetlands site will be on your left.
