Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund Board solicits new designs for 'Nature's Finest' plates
FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 21, 2006) - Ever wanted to design a license plate? Here’s an opportunity.
The Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund Board is seeking new designs for the Kentucky nature license plates, which currently feature three of our "Nature’s Finest" - the cardinal, bobcat and viceroy butterfly.
The board will decide whether to continue offering the same three designs or to make changes. Guidelines for submitted designs:
· Plate size 12 inches by 6 inches
· Up to three colors, plus black and white
· Kentucky Unbridled Spirit logo centered at top
· "Nature’s Finest" slogan centered at bottom
· Must feature a natural image of Kentucky - a landscape or particular plant or animal species
Designs should be submitted by July 15, 2006 to natureplate@ky.gov <mailto:natureplate@ky.gov>, or Nature License Plate, 375 Versailles Road, Frankfort, Ky. 40601.
Each purchase of a Kentucky nature license plate generates $10 for purchase and preservation of selected natural areas and wildlife habitat through the Heritage Land Conservation Fund. To date, land encompassing more than 25,000 acres across Kentucky has been protected, in part with these funds.
