LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 10, 2007) – Thoroughbred trainer Patrick Biancone will be able to continue working in Kentucky while he appeals a one-year suspension handed down earlier this month by the Kentucky Horse Racing Authority (KHRA).

The decision by James Robke, a hearing officer for the KHRA, came following a hearing today. The KHRA opposed granting Biancone’s request for a stay of the suspension pending his appeal.

Kentucky state racing stewards ruled last Wednesday that Biancone committed multiple violations of the Kentucky medication regulations. They ordered that Biancone be suspended for one year beginning on Oct. 15, 2007.

Yesterday Biancone appealed the stewards’ ruling and asked for a stay of the suspension during the appeal process. That request triggered today’s hearing.
