Monday, October 22, 2012 The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) is soliciting nominations for the 2012–13 Eco-Art Contest. The contest provides an opportunity for students to gain statewide recognition for their artwork as it relates to Kentucky’s environment.

- Kentucky Receives $1.9 Million in Grants for Contaminated Land Cleanup and Assessment from the EPA
Tuesday, May 29, 2012 The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) announced that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has awarded three brownfield grants to Kentucky totaling $1.9 million to fund the assessment and cleanup of properties with environmental problems.

Thursday, May 10, 2012 The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) is soliciting nominations for the 2012 Environmental Excellence Awards. These awards were established to recognize the environmental leadership efforts and activities of individuals, businesses and organizations in the state. Through this awards program, DEP is providing a platform to tell the stories of the environmental stewardship taking place in the Commonwealth.
- Student Artists Honored for Eco-Art Contest
Wednesday, May 02, 2012 The Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection (DEP) is honoring the six winning 2012 Eco-Art Contest high school artists this week by presenting awards at the respective schools. The Kentucky students used the contest themes or categories of conservation, pollution prevention and environmental protection and submitted artwork using the media types of drawing/painting/print, mixed media, sculpture and photographs.

- Franklin County School Launches Alternative Fuels Lab
Tuesday, November 29, 2011 The Franklin County Career and Technical Center (FCCTC) launched its alternative fuels lab with the production of its first batch of biodiesel Nov. 10, 2011. The biodiesel production at FCCTC was made possible by the Kentucky Biofuels for Schools Program, which encourages Kentucky high schools to teach, produce and use biofuels within their schools and community. Kentucky Biofuels for Schools is made possible by TogetherGreen and the Kentucky Division of Compliance Assistance (DCA).
