Registration Opens for Governor's Conference on the Environment
Online registration is now underway for the 2010 Governor’s Conference on the Environment Oct. 20-21 in Louisville. The two-day event, sponsored by the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, will focus on the direct connections among historical and renewable energy sources, environmental protection and economic growth.
The goal of the conference is to create and continue a dialogue among government, community and business leaders and educational professionals on how to take advantage of opportunities and tackle the energy and environment challenges presented in today’s world.
To register, visit the cabinet’s conference webpage at http://eec.ky.gov/Pages/conference.aspx . Before Oct. 4, 2010, full conference fees total $175 per registrant. For attendance on Oct. 20 only, the cost is $100; for Oct. 21 only, the cost is $75.
The conference includes an exhibit hall for vendors wishing to display energy- and environment-related products and services. Vendors also may register and pay online at http://eec.ky.gov/Pages/conference.aspx. The cost of a booth is $300 and includes one full conference registration.
Registrations made after Oct. 4 increase to $200 for the full conference; $125 for Oct. 20 only and $100 for Oct. 21 only. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after Oct. 4, 2010. Cancellations and substitutions must be received in writing and may be e-mailed to KarenL.Wilson@ky.gov.
A block of rooms has been reserved at a special rate at the Downtown Louisville Marriott. Registrants are responsible for their own lodging and travel expenses. The rate is $119 per night, not including state and local taxes.
