Registration opens for annual Governor's Conference on Energy and the Environment
Online registration is underway for the 35th Governor’s Conference on Energy and the Environment, sponsored by the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet. This year’s event takes place Sept. 26-27 at the Lexington Convention Center.
The goal of the conference is to create a dialogue among government, community and business leaders on how to take advantage of opportunities and tackle the energy and environmental challenges presented in today’s world.
Topics include legislative, regulatory and policy updates at the federal level; water quality in riparian zones; Kentucky’s renewable energy potential; federal electricity transmission issues and possible impacts on Kentucky; a panel discussion on today’s coal mining practices that are designed to lessen the environmental impact of both underground and surface mining; and much more.

Before Sept. 16, 2011, full conference fees total $175 per registrant. For attendance on Sept. 26 only, the cost is $110; for Sept. 27 only, the cost is $85.
The conference includes an exhibit hall for vendors wishing to display energy- and environment-related products and services. Vendors also may register and pay online at http://eec.ky.gov/Pages/conference.aspx. The cost of a booth is $300 and includes one full conference registration.
Registrations made after Sept. 16 increase to $200 for the full conference; $125 for Sept. 26 only and $100 for Sept. 27 only. No refunds will be made on cancellations received after Sept. 16, 2011.
