Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives

FRANKFORT, Ky.  - "Exploring Kentucky Public Records” will be the theme of the 23rd annual Kentucky Archives Institute, scheduled for July 13, 2007, at the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives, 300 Coffee Tree Road, Frankfort.  The Institute, sponsored by the Friends of Kentucky Public Archives, Inc., provides information for scholars, general researchers, and genealogists interested in archival research.

Featured speakers at this year's event include Pen Bogert, The Filson Club Historical Society; Kandie Adkinson, Kentucky’s Secretary of State Land Office; Brandon Slone, Military Records and Research Library, Department of Military Affairs; and Lisa Thompson and Walter Bowman, Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. 

A registration fee of $45.00 includes attendance at the Institute from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., lunch and all materials.  Deadline for registration is July 6th, and seating is limited to 50.  Registrations should be sent to:  Friends of Kentucky Public Archives, Inc., ATTN:  Kentucky Archives Institute, P.
