Office for the Blind seeks public input for needs assessment

FRANKFORT, Ky.  — The Kentucky Office for the Blind (OFB) in the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet is seeking public input on the needs of Kentuckians with visual disabilities at two focus group meetings in July.

Information from the focus groups will be used to identify service needs and trends in the community for a statewide comprehensive needs assessment. The meetings are open to the public.
Following is information on the focus groups.

• Monday, July 11, 1 – 3 p.m. at the Charles W. McDowell Center, 8412 Westport Road, in Louisville
• Tuesday, July 12, 1 – 3 p.m. at the Blue Grass Council of the Blind, 1093 S. Broadway, Suite 1220, Lexington

OFB provides job counseling, education, job training and assistive technology services to Kentuckians who are visually impaired so that they can have opportunities for employment and independence.
The Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet coordinates learning programs from P-16, and manages and supports training and employment functions in the Department for Workforce Investment.
