Consumer Seminars On Medicare Drug Benefit Scheduled Around Kentucky

CONSUMER SEMINARS ON MEDICARE DRUG BENEFIT SCHEDULED AROUND KENTUCKY IN OCTOBER, NOVEMBER State, federal agencies team to provide information, answer questions
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 23, 2005) – Nine consumer seminars on the new Medicare prescription drug benefit program are being sponsored around the state in October and November by the Kentucky Office of Insurance (KOI).
The seminars will include detailed information about the new drug benefit program, also known as Medicare Part D. In addition to KOI, participants include representatives from the Social Security Administration, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Medicare Partners, Health Care Excel, the State Health Insurance Assistance Program and others.
Assistance with the cost of Medicare Part D may be available to qualified seniors. The Social Security Administration will be accepting applications for this extra help at the seminars. Those interested in applying should bring documentation of income and resources. This may include bank and investment statements, life insurance policies, stock certificates, tax returns, pension award letters and payroll slips.
