The division received an overall score of 99 percent. Auditors scored the agency 100 percent on the mandatory standard requirements and 99 percent on the non-mandatory requirements of the American Correctional Association (ACA).

    The tornado that hit West Liberty Friday did not damage the medium-security prison in the tiny community. Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC) sits on a hill just a mile and a half from the devastation along the town’s main street. The Morgan County prison is without electricity, operating on generators, and only has intermittent phone service but the inmate population is safe and secure, said Warden Gary Beckstrom.
