Tim Horn Promoted to Supervisor in Probation & Parole District 8
Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Roberto Rodriguez today announced the promotion of Tim Horn to supervisor of District 8. Horn assumed his new duties July 1.
District 8 encompasses Bath, Breathitt, Clark, Estill, Lee, Madison, Menifee, Montgomery, Owsley, Powell, Rowan and Wolfe counties. The district office is located in Mt. Sterling with field offices in Campton, Irvine, Morehead and Richmond.
“I am pleased to promote Tim Horn to the District 8 supervisor position,” said Rodriguez. “He will provide much needed leadership to that district.”
Horn began his career with the Department of Corrections in 2004 as a probation and parole officer in Madison County. During his tenure as an officer he performed numerous duties including supervising a regular caseload, pre-sentence investigation preparation and serving as a member of the 25th Judicial Circuit Drug Court Team. He has also served as a firearms instructor and security threat group coordinator since 2009.
In August 2013, Horn was promoted to assistant supervisor of District 8. Since that time he has served on the Level of Service/ Case Management Inventory Review Committee and is a current member of the Probation & Parole Firearms Board.
Horn is a 1992 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he earned a bachelor of science degree in corrections and juvenile services. He is also a graduate of the 2013 Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Development Program.
