Stonex Promoted to District 3 P&P Supervisor
Frankfort, Ky. (November 11, 2008) – Kentucky Department of Corrections’ Director of the Division of Probation & Parole Lelia VanHoose today announced the promotion of Mark Stonex to the position of District 3 Supervisor. District 3, based in Bowling Green, covers Warren, Barren, Monroe, Cumberland, Metcalfe, Adair and Casey counties.
“Mark Stonex has proven himself to be of the highest integrity and dedication to his job. No matter the obstacle before him, he has always maintained his principles and kept his focus on the mission,” said VanHoose. “It is very rewarding to see Mark receive this well earned opportunity. He will be a valuable asset to our Division and Department.”
Stonex began his Corrections career at the Warren County Regional Jail in August of 1994. He achieved the rank of Captain/1st Shift Commander. In June of 1999 he was hired by the Division of Probation & Parole to Supervise a Warren County Caseload and conduct court investigations for Warren Circuit. In 2001 Stonex assumed responsibility of the Butler and Edmonson caseloads and court investigation for Butler and Edmonson Circuits.
In March of 2005 he was promoted to Assistant Supervisor in the 2nd District. He is a 2007 graduate of the Commissioner's Executive Leadership Program and assisted the Department as a statewide trainer for implementation the agency’s new Offender Management System. He is an accreditation file auditor, and author and pioneer of the "PORTAL to Success" parolee reentry program.
Stonex holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University and underwent a two-year Planning Practicum with the Barren River Area Development District.
A resident of Bowling Green, he and his wife Edie have a five-year-old daughter, Railey. Stonex is a member of the Green River Gun Club and frequently volunteers at St. Joseph School in Bowling Green.
