Rebecca Palmer Promoted to District 15 Assistant Supervisor in Division of Probation & Parole
Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Tim Carman today announced the promotion of Rebecca Palmer to assistant supervisor of District 15 in Catlettsburg. District 15 has two field offices in Maysville and Paintsville and covers 12 counties including Boyd, Bracken, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Greenup, Johnson, Lawrence, Lewis, Martin, Mason and Morgan. Palmer will assume her new duties on Feb. 16.
“Rebecca’s experience both in the work she has done in the Executive Leadership Program and in the varied roles in which she has served during her years with the division provides a great foundation for her promotion,” said Carman. “I am pleased to be able to promote Rebecca. I know she will continue to be a true asset as we move forward toward implementing meaningful supervision strategies and expanding our reentry focus.”
Palmer began her career with the Division of Probation and Parole in 1999 as a research analyst in the District 7 office in Covington. In November 1999 she was promoted to probation and parole officer I. In June 2006 she transferred to the District 15 office in Maysville. She has performed numerous duties including supervising a regular caseload, supervising specialized sex offenders and presentence investigation preparation. She is also an active member of the 19th Judicial Circuit Drug Court Team, Coordinated Community Response Team through the Women’s Crisis Center and the Northeast Kentucky Reentry Council.
Palmer is a graduate of Murray State University where she earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. She is also a graduate of the 2003 and 2006 Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Programs and is currently a participant in the 2011 Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Program.
