Canterberry Promoted to District 14 P&P Supervisor
Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Lelia “Lee” VanHoose today announced the promotion of Ray Canterberry to the position District 14 Supervisor. The district encompasses Lincoln, Garrard, Jessamine, Woodford, Scott, Bourbon, Harrison, Nicholas, Robertson and Pendleton counties. He will assume his new duties on May 1.
“Ray has worked very hard to prepare himself for this new assignment,” VanHoose said. “He has undertaken every task asked of him and excelled in the execution of those tasks. I am very pleased to add a professional of his caliber to our leadership team.”
Canterberry began his career as a Correctional Officer on February 1, 1994 at Northpoint Training Center in Danville. While at Northpoint, he was promoted to Classification and Treatment Officer in December 1994. Canterberry then moved to the Department’s Division of Probation & Parole in January 2001, where he served as both an institutional parole officer and a field officer. In August 2007, he was promoted to Assistant District Supervisor in District 6. While there he also served as state armorer for the Division. In 2009 Canterberry successfully completed the Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Program.
Canterberry is a volunteer Firefighter and EMT, enjoys golf and is an avid sports fan. He is originally from Flatwoods, Kentucky but currently resides in Mackville with his wife, Robbie, and their daughter, Anna.
