Corrections Website Now Features Probation & Parole Absconders
Frankfort, KY – If you’re a Kentucky parolee and probationer and are thinking about taking off – or absconding from that supervision, you might want to think again. Probation and Parole officers are now using a new tool to track down absconders: the internet.
Beginning this week, the website for the Kentucky Department of Corrections now has a new section called “Most Wanted Absconders” and features the photographs of offenders from each of the probation and parole districts across the state.
Once you click on a photo of an absconder, you see information on the offender including a basic description, county of conviction, and charges.
“More and more people are using the internet every day,” said Kentucky Department of Corrections Commissioner John D. Rees. “This is a way for us to disseminate the information to a wide audience about individuals for whom we have active warrants on. These people have chosen not to abide by the rules of supervision and therefore must face the consequences.”
