Maness Named District 1 Probation & Parole Supervisor
Frankfort, KY – Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Lelia “Lee” VanHoose today announced that Renee Maness had been promoted to District 1 Supervisor. The district includes 12 counties in the far western portion of the state.
“Renee Maness is a dedicated Corrections professional who has an excellent work ethic. She is considered a true asset to Probation & Parole and will provide quality leadership and supervision in District 1,” said VanHoose.
Maness is 1989 graduate of Murray State University with a major in criminal justice and minor in psychology. She began her career in the Kentucky Department of Corrections as a Probation & Parole Officer on February 16, 1990 as an Intensive Supervision Officer in Murray. In 1992, when the intensive program was eliminated in that area, she took over a regular supervision caseload. In 1999, she received the Outstanding Corrections Employee Award as designated by the Commissioner.
Since being employed in 1990, Maness has been actively involved in Leadership Murray sponsored by Murray State University and by local business officials located in Calloway County. Also, she regularly speaks at Youth Leadership Murray, sponsored by the local school districts, which involves high school and middle school students.
Maness and her husband John live in Murray. They have two children, Blake, 12, and Darien, 10. They are members of First Baptist Church in Murray.
