Luther Luckett Correctional Complex 25th Anniversary celebrated with USPS Special Postmark
LaGrange, Ky. - Luther Luckett Correctional Complex will celebrate its 25th anniversary the first week of May in conjunction with Correctional Employees’ Week in Kentucky.
In honor of this historic occasion the United States Post Office has created a special pictorial commemorative postmark that will be applied to an envelope and available to the public for purchase. Oldham County citizens, stamp collectors, and historians may want to add this special canceled postmark to their collection or as a memento of the event.
The design commemorates the professionalism of the prison’s corrections staff that has served the citizens of the Commonwealth for the past 25 years. The postmark will be unveiled during Correctional Employees’ Week. It was produced in limited edition of only 110.
The public may purchase this special postmark for $1 at the prison’s front desk on May 8, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 1 p.m with proceeds going to the prison’s Staff Canteen Fund. For more information contact Charlene J. Hoke, Public Information Officer at (502) 222-0363 ext. 4513.
