Don Keene Promoted to District 12 Assistant Supervisor in Division of Probation & Parole
Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Roberto Rodriguez today announced the promotion of Don Keene to assistant supervisor of District 12 in Frankfort. District 12 covers 11 counties including Anderson, Carroll, Franklin, Gallatin, Grant, Henry, Oldham, Owen, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble with satellite offices in Carrollton, LaGrange and Shelbyville. Keene assumed his new duties May 1.
“Don has shown a long-term commitment to the department,” said Rodriguez. “I am pleased to promote him to the position of assistant supervisor in District 12.”
Keene began his career with the Department of Corrections as a correctional officer at Blackburn Correctional Complex in Lexington in October 2000. He was promoted to probation and parole officer in October 2001 and worked in both the Covington and Carrollton offices. In June 2005, he transferred to the newly formed District 12 office and was again assigned to the Carrollton office. He worked there until March 2011 when he transferred to the Frankfort office.
Throughout his time with the Division of Probation and Parole, Keene has acted as a community office liaison for two offices, District 12 firearms instructor and assisted with disaster recovery efforts across the state.
Keene is a 2000 graduate of Kentucky State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.
