Charles Jonathon Porter Promoted to Assistant Supervisor in Division of Probation & Parole
Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Tim Carman today announced that Charles Jonathon Porter was promoted to assistant supervisor of District 15 in Catlettsburg. District 15 covers 12 counties including Boyd, Bracken, Carter, Elliott, Fleming, Greenup, Johnson, Lawrence, Lewis, Martin, Mason and Morgan. Porter assumed his new duties on July 16.
“Jonathon has demonstrated the skills necessary to be a valuable addition to the leadership team,” said Carman. “I am pleased to have the opportunity to promote a person with the dedication and community consciousness that Jonathon has shown personally and professionally.”
Porter began his career with the Department of Corrections as a probation and parole officer in 2002. He has served in many capacities including working with the drug court program, class D program and the specialized sex offender caseload. He also served on the Division’s compliance team for accreditation. Throughout his career Porter has taken advantage of numerous training opportunities and has been certified as a controlled force instructor and a firearms instructor.
Porter is a graduate of Morehead State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business.
