Andrea Collins Promoted to District 20 Assistant Supervisor in Division of Probation & Parole
Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Tim Carman today announced the promotion of Andrea Collins to assistant supervisor of District 20 in Somerset. District 20 has two field offices in Monticello and Williamsburg and covers eight counties including Clinton, Lincoln, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell, Wayne and Whitley. Collins will assume her new duties Feb. 1.
“Andrea has a wealth of knowledge in court proceedings, report preparation and offender supervision,” said Carman. “This experience combined with her ability to effectively communicate with others will afford her the opportunity to become a valuable member of the District 20 leadership team.”
Prior to coming for the Department of Corrections, Collins worked as a social services clinician for the Cabinet of Health and Family Services and as a senior paralegal for a law office. She began her career with the Department as a probation and parole officer in Pulaski County in May 2007. She transferred to the Monticello office in August 2007 where she supervised offenders, attended Drug Court and played a vital role in helping the office operate efficiently. Collins was also the recipient of the 2008 Rookie of the Year award for District 10.
Collins is a 2002 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice.
Collins is also very active in her community. She is involved in the Defensive Action Against Drugs program and the Awana program at her church.
