LaDonna Miller Named Marketing Director For Kentucky State Parks
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Commerce Secretary Marcheta Sparrow announced today that LaDonna Miller, who directed sales and marketing efforts for the Belle of Louisville, will be the marketing director for the Kentucky Department of Parks.
Miller will oversee marketing for a system of 52 state parks, including 17 resort parks that feature restaurants, lodges and cottages.
“We’re glad to get someone with LaDonna’s broad experience in marketing, sales and tourism. She is well known and respected throughout the tourism industry,” said Sparrow. “She’ll be a great addition to our parks staff.”
Miller has served as director of sales and marketing for the Belle of Louisville, a National Historic Landmark, since 2003. While there, she developed a sales and marketing plan, converted the sightseeing vessel to a lunch and dinner vessel and developed new charter programs. She was also responsible for advertising, supervised the sales staff and oversaw special events such as Thunder Over Louisville and the Great Steamboat Race.
Prior to her work with the Belle, Miller worked for 15 years for the Star of Louisville, a cruise dining vessel. She held various positions there and served as director of sales and operations.
During her work in Louisville, Miller worked closely with the Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau and other tourism organizations throughout Kentucky.
The Kentucky State Parks include resorts, golf courses, camping, historic sites, hiking, boating, fishing and other recreational activities. For more information, visit www.parks.ky.gov
