LEXINGTON, Ky. – The makers of the movie “Secretariat” are looking for several hundred extras for filming at Keeneland Race Course on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 28 and 29.

Those interested should sign in at 8 a.m. at Gate 2. Extras must wear clothing from the 1970s.

“I had the opportunity to visit the set for ‘Secretariat’ and am very excited that this production about one of Kentucky’s legendary racehorses is being filmed in the Commonwealth.  There is no other place on earth that could authentically replicate our beautiful horse farms and historic racetracks,” First Lady Jane Beshear said. “Without our recently-approved film incentives this production would not have even considered Kentucky as a possible filming location.”

Mrs. Beshear visited a film set at Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Woodford County on Friday. The film about the famous racehorse is being produced by Disney Studios.

The extras at Keeneland will not be paid and should bring snacks, drinks (no alcohol) and a book. They should expect to spend the day at the track.
