KHS Launches New Web Site

Frankfort, KY - January 12, 2007 The Kentucky Historical Society has launched a new Web site that offers enhanced content and services.

Visitors to the KHS Web site at www.history.ky.gov can explore a wide variety of features such as an online exhibit of the Toyota Kentucky Hall of Governors, conduct family history and genealogical research using KHS databases, view KHS’s calendar of events, and plan a visit to the Kentucky Historical Society’s History Campus, which includes the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, the Old State Capitol, and the Kentucky Military History Museum. Visitors can also sign up for KHS’s monthly e- newsletter by submitting their e-mail address on any page of the Web site.

“We hope visitors notice some of the positive changes that come with this new Web site which help us provide a world-wide audience with the best Kentucky history resources,” says Kent Whitworth, executive director of KHS. “The new Web site is another tool that assists KHS in providing connections to the past, perspective on the present, and inspiration for the future.”

News releases and general announcements will also be placed on the Web site. To post a comment about the Web site, suggest additional Web site services, or suggest content changes, visitors can use the “Contact Us” section of the Web site.
