Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is holding a guided sunset canoe trip on Aug. 25 from 5:30-8 p.m. CDT. Guests will be able to enjoy one of the scenic bays on the Lake Barkley side of Land Between the Lakes. Paddlers will have an opportunity to see some wildlife such as osprey, heron and songbirds while enjoying the memorable views of the lake.

The cost for the canoe trip is $25, which includes the price of the canoe rental. Reservations are required. Call 270-924-2020 to register and for additional information.  Those wanting to canoe on their own at Land Between the Lakes can rent canoes from Energy Lake Campground and the Woodlands Nature Station for $10 per hour. There are multiple divisions for teams, including: female, male, coed and family. Registration begins at 8 a.m. EDT Saturday, and the racing begins at 9 a.m. Family and friends coming to watch will get in for free, so invite plenty of supporters.
