Haunted Forest Ride, Record Breaking ATV Efforts in Bell County Oct. 19-21
PINEVILLE, Ky. -- Ever wanted to be a world record holder?
Well, your chance has arrived. The popular Haunted Forest Ride brought to you by the Holler Crawlers ATV Club is Oct. 19-21.
The Haunted Forest Ride takes place at the Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park just outside Pineville. Each year the Haunted Forest ride has been bigger than the year before, and 2012 is expected to raise the bar.
On Saturday, Oct. 20, at 1:30 p.m., riders will begin to line up for the world record attempts. One record is for the most ATVs in a parade, and another will be an attempt to break the record for most side-by-sides (vehicles with two to four people) in a parade. Each parade of riders will travel a 2-mile parade route over level trails. There will be official counters and plenty of folks taking pictures and video. This record was once set in Harlan County, Ky., until it was broken in Minnesota and more recently in Utah. Now, it is time to bring it back home to Kentucky!
ATV celebrity Brian Fisher will again be in attendance with his “Keepin’ it Real Tour.” On Saturday evening there will be a concert by country star Colt Ford at 9:30 p.m. (tickets are $15 for the concert).
There will be guided rides, Halloween costume contests for attendees and their rides, hill climbs and food all weekend long. There are also special events set up just for kids.
Participants in the Haunted Forest Ride will start lining up at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Camping will also be available. Visit the Holler Crawlers’ website for more information at: http://hollercrawlers.com/events/
The Wilderness Trail Off-Road Park is 9,000 acres of riding, scenery, fishing and camping that is open year-round and free to use. The Holler Crawlers ATV Club and Bell County Fiscal Court support this top-level riding destination.
