Adoption Task Force Meeting Scheduled

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Sept. 8, 2006) – The next meeting of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ blue ribbon panel on adoption is scheduled for next week.

The meeting will be from 9 to 11 a.m. in room 327 of the Capitol on Friday, Sept. 15, and is open to the public.

This is the panel’s second meeting.

The 12-member group’s goal is to review the process and current practices that led to the termination of parental rights and adoption of children in the state’s child welfare system and to identify opportunities for improvement.

Cabinet Secretary Mark D. Birdwhistell serves as the group’s chairman.
