Register Now for Third Annual e-Health Summit
(FRANKFORT, KY Sept. 8, 2009) Registration is open for the Third Annual Kentucky e-Health Summit, the state’s premier event that gathers experts from the business, technology, health care, academic and government sectors to advance e-Health efforts in the commonwealth. The summit will be held on Sept. 16.
Those interested in participating are encouraged to register for the event, which will be at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville. The Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) and the Kentucky e-Health Network Board are co-sponsoring the summit, which will provide a unique opportunity for stakeholders to explore the value that electronic health information can provide to businesses and individuals throughout the state.
“The promise of improving the lives and health of Kentuckians is the driving force to developing a health information exchange,” said CHFS Secretary Janie Miller. “The goal of Kentucky’s efforts is to improve health care by using technology and collaboration to provide Kentuckians with health information that will improve quality of care, reduce medical errors and save lives.”
Presenters at the summit will discuss health care reform and the role of health information technology, and offer the latest information on federal stimulus funding through the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.
Numerous exhibitors will also be on hand to showcase the latest software to support implementation of health care technology and interoperability. Speakers represent the Office of the National Coordinator, World Health Organization, National Governors Association, National Institute of Standards and Technology, and other innovative leaders in health information technology.
