Lt. Governor Steve Pence Swears Son into Kentucky National Guard
LOUISVILLE, KY—Kentucky Lieutenant Governor Stephen Pence, who also serves as a colonel in the US Army Reserves, delivered the oath of office to his son on Saturday, May 13 at the Kentucky Army National Guard Recruiting Station located at Jefferson Mall. Private Peter James Pence was sworn into the Kentucky Army National Guard where he will serve as an Aviation Operations Specialist with the Headquarters Company, 63rd Aviation Group, based in Frankfort.
A native of Louisville, Private Pence will attend basic training this summer after graduation from Ballard High School and will receive his Advanced Individual Training at Fort Rucker, Alabama next year. This fall, he will attend the University of Louisville and will participate in the Army ROTC and the Simultaneous Membership Program with the National Guard. His long term goals include receiving his commission as an officer through the ROTC program and attending flight school. Pence is the son of Lt. Governor Stephen Pence and Ms. Rita Pence.
Lieutenant Governor Pence has been in the military for more than 25 years.
