FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has directed that flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff in honor of President Gerald R. Ford.

“Glenna and I join our country today as we mourn the loss of one of our great leaders, President Gerald R. Ford,” stated Governor Fletcher.  “President Ford was a humble public servant who led our country to calm in a time of turmoil and who did so with a kindness, dignity and sincerity that wasn’t overlooked. President Ford’s passion for public service and his love for our country will never be forgotten.”

Flags are to remain at half-staff for 30 days, until sunset on January 25, 2007, in honor of President Ford.
