Governor Ernie Fletcher Declares State of Emergency Following Kentucky Floods
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has declared a state of emergency in Kentucky, following extreme fall storms which began in the Commonwealth on Sept. 22, resulting in flooding, loss of life, personal injury and widespread damage.
The executive order declaring the state of emergency was signed today.
Since the date of the storms, state emergency management officials have been evaluating and monitoring the situation with county responders. The Governor’s order now allows the final part of coordination with federal officials to be completed.
