Federal-Mogul Corp. Receives Governor's Safety and Health Award
No lost-time injury or illness at Glasgow factory since January 2003
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher today presented a 2006 Governor’s Safety and Health Award to Federal-Mogul Corp., whose employees have worked more than 1.3 million hours without a “lost-time” injury or illness at the company’s brake manufacturing facility in Glasgow.
The award is given to employers and employees who together have achieved a specified streak of hours worked without a lost-time episode – one in which an employee misses a full day of work – or who have gone one year without a recordable injury or illness.
Federal-Mogul, which makes brakes for commercial vehicles and has 225 employees at its Glasgow plant, last had a lost-time episode on Jan. 8, 2003.
Governor Fletcher presented the award to management and employees at a ceremony today in Glasgow.
“Improving workplace safety has been a fundamental goal of our administration,” Governor Fletcher said. “I firmly believe that a healthy work force is indispensable to a healthy economy, and I am pleased that Federal-Mogul shares that vision.”
